We have lived in the area over 15 years and finally tried Rivera's. Wow the carne asada and beans were delicious. I understand why there was a line. I cannot eat gluten so I was sad I could not try the tortillas but my husband said they were delicious. We will be back. I wish the hot station was more visible so we could have tried some of the delicious items I saw people ordering. What a gem.

We stopped here at the end of an 8 hour car drive and it is the most delicious El Salvadorian food I've had in the DMV.

Rivera's is like a mini mart/restaurant but not like a real big restaurant. They have 2 tables where you sit and eat but this is more of a takeout place. This is the best place to get fresh Salvadoran tortillas. Sometimes when I'm too lazy to make my own at home I stop here and pick some up. Before Covid they would make the tortillas like non stop all day. Now they stop making them at a certain time but you can always get them cold and reheat. They sell other foods like chicharrónes, Salvadoran chicken tamales, empanadas de platanos, etc. They also have the BEST fresco de tamarindo in town. It's a little hidden gem and kinda tricky to find but once you do you'll be coming back regularly.

Absolutely delicious! I had the carne asada with a colleague and I ended up buying baked goods to take home. The inside is a mix of market, bakery, tortilla factory, and restaurant. I loved it! Be prepared to practice a little Spanish, but the staff is good natured and accommodating. Whenever I'm back in the area, I will return for sure.

Hidden Gem indeed. You will find a little bit of everything. They have a mini market, make fresh handmade tortillas, nuegados, tamales de helote, and so much more. I tried their empanadas and nuegados and it was ok. The nuegados has a odd taste towards the end something I haven't tasted before. Thy have a $10 minimum on credit cards.
